DR. C. N. FINCHS 1939 STABLE Twelve Older Horses and Four Juveniles Will Be Quartered at the Downs in Near Future. LOUISVILLE, Ky., April 12. Twelve older horses and four two-year-olds will make up the stable of Dr. C. N. Finch when it is fully assembled at Churchill Downs. The older horses have arrived from Hot Springs while the two-year-olds, now at the Finch farm just outside of Jeffersonville, Ind., will be brought here next week. The thoroughbreds which the Indiana veterinary surgeon and horseman transferred from Oaklawn Park are Kentucky Jane, Military Miss, Gin Fritters, Paul T., Surgeon Dick, Clashman, Chester Rose, Surveyor, Bill Donoghue, Windshield, Gold Brush and Ahead. The juveniles are Henry Hatter, a brown colt by Inherit and Queen Towton; Green Whisk, a chestnut filly by Whiskaway and Green Tie; Willie G., a chestnut colt by Inherit and Flutter Up, and Sir S., a bay colt by Sir West and Scarp. Dr. Finch bred Sir S. at his own farm where Sir West is doing stallion service. The Indiana horseman, who plans to race six or seven at Keeneland, will introduce two new riders to Kentucky fans. One is Elmer Thomas, a sixteen-year-old Hot Springs boy, who rode his first winner during the recent Oaklawn Park meeting, and the other is Junior Hooker, a seventeen-year-old youth from New Whitington, Ind. Hooker has not yet had a mount, but Finch expects to give him a chance this spring. Both boys show promise, according to their employer. .
