HONOR DR. ALEXIS CARREL NEW YORK, N. Y., April 12. Award of the New York Rotary Clubs service medal to Dr. Alexis Carrel, famed for his work in medical-surgical research, was announced yesterday, with a citation of Dr. Carrels devotion of his life "to the amelioration of human suffering." The medal will be presented today to Dr. Carrel, who, having reached the automatic retirement age of 65, is retiring from the Rockefeller Institute next July, and is expected to return to France, where he plans to continue with Col. Charles A. Lindbergh the development of the, "artificial heart."
