ZEPHYR IN TRIAL RUN The Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroads new Zephyr, Gen. Pershing, left the Union Station Tuesday on its initial 500-mile official run. The new train is Diesel-powered. A new type brake is being used on the Zephyr which, it is said, will stop a train going 100 miles an hour in less than half the distance formerly required.
