Start good and slow. Won driving; second and third the same. MINTSON was away slowly, but moved up fast under mild urging, came to the outside of the leader in the stretch, assumed command and outlasted BAREBACK in the final drive. The latter, away slowly and outrun in the early stages, improved his position steadily and closed fastest. QUE GATO was sent into command shortly after the start, showed speed while saving ground and had no mishaps. SUNCRAX broke fast, but dropped back and could not menace the leaders at any stage. SPEED LIMIT lacked early speed, then made up some ground. DOHOEV was slow to begin. RITORNO dropped back after a half mile and was never a factor. Start good and slow. Won easily; second and third the same. ALBELAD was under pressure going to the first turn to assume command, drew away rounding the far turn into an easy lead and then held HENRYELS PICK safe in the final sixteenth. The latter was eased back rounding the first turn to keep from losing ground, moved up on the outside when settled in the back stretch, swerved to the inside at the eighth post and could not overhaul the winner. WESGOT raced forwardly from the start and had no mishaps in the running. JACAROO, a trailer in the first part, was placed under pressure on the far turn and closed ground slowly. BING BONG, under pressure to the first turn, failed to respond thereafter. NOON SUN had a flash of early speed and then quit. THIRD RACE 5-8 MILE. Outline, May 16, 1923— :58%— 2— 111. Sunrise Purse. Won easily; second and third the same. GANNET was rushed into command at the start, displayed speed throughout, responded when roused in the stretch and held DUNGEON safe in the final drive. The latter, in near pursuit of the pace all the way, faltered in the final sixteenth. SET dwelt at the start and was away slowly, moved up on the inside, then came to the outside in the final eighth. OLD RIVER was close up throughout and had no excuse. CREEPY MOUSE raced greenly all the way. ELEVEN WALL lacked early, speed. KING NEPTUNE broke well, but raced greenly throughout. SASSY LADY broke fast and was in near pursuit of the pace all the •way, responded in the stretch and held on well to the end. AERIAL BOMB was well up from the start, came through on the inside in the stretch and hung at the finish. AMERICAN DAISY, slow to begin and badly outrun early, made up ground passing tired horses nearing the finish. LOTTERY showed a flash of speed and had no mishaps. SOLAR FLIGHT and HASTY WEDDING were never factors at any stage of the running. FIFTH RACE 1MILE AND 70 YARDS. Johnstown, April 25, 1939— 1:40%— 3— 120. CHALLENGE followed the early pace under steady restraint while racing on the outside, moved up with determination on the outside rounding the far turn, disposed of BLACK DEMON when straightened out in the stretch and drew away at the finish. BLACK DEMON forced the early pace, raced BOSTON FAIR into defeat rounding the stretch turn, then swerved to the inside at the finish. BURNUP was kept under steady restraint in the early running, responded in the stretch after saving ground and outlasted TEDDYS GIRL in the final strides. TEDDYS GIRL, a trailer in the early running, finished fast through the stretch after losing ground turning for home. BOSTON FAIR was sent into command at the start, set the pace under sufferance and had no mishaps. BROTHER JONES was never a serious factor at any stage. SIXTH RACE 1 1-16 MILES. STIPULATE had no mishaps in the running. BRIGHT CHANCE was never a serious factor. REPERCUSSION reared at the start, was rushed up fast, then tired after going a half mile.
