9 THORNE HAS 4 CARS FOR RACE LOS ANGELES, Calif., April 26.— Joe Thorne, West Coast sportsman, left here yesterday with four of the fastest cars the West has ever entered in the 500-mile Memorial Day race at Indianapolis. Thorne intends to enter all four cars in the event He will drive his 270-horsepower blue Suzanna, while Rex Mays and Jimmy Snyder will pilot twin 360-horsepower machines.
