1 CHURCHILL DOWNS NOTES . . $ — — — George S. D., a three-year-old in the stable of William E. Smith, has been taken out of training and will be fired. Later, he will be" turned out at Golden Maxim Farm. The well-regarded bay daughter of Byrd— Yen in the J. B. Respess stable, will race under the name of Lady Delight* approval of the name having been received by Respess, Tuesday. Respess reports eleven foals at his Highland Stock Farm. Eight of the new arrivals are colts. John P. Jones, local turfman, has four of his horses at Churchill Downs, the quartet having moved over from Douglas Park several days ago. They are Margy Might, Pearl Alma, Pepper Box, and the two-year-old Hurigal. F. G. Farro, trainer of the Valley Grey Farm, made reservations for three horses at Churchill Downs. They are Total Eclipse, Miss Bull Dog, and a juvenile. Two more horses will be added to the band Jesse Spencer has quartered at Churchill Downs. Those which will augment the string of five already on the grounds are Our Willie, a Clark Handicap eligible, and Neighbor. They will be vanned from Keeneland. Nine horses, the property of Lexbroolc Stable, nom de course of M. A. and L. D. Kern, of Chicago, were transferred from Douglas Park to Churchill Downs, by trainer Leonard J. Wilson. Hunter Lyon, Louisville sportsman and racing patron, purchased the interest C. L. Croan held in the horse, Bucket Head. The thoroughbred will be trained by Robert Ramsey. E. H. Baumgardner, Ohio turfman, who has a number of horses in training at Churchill Downs for Mrs. A. A. Bowers, motored to Grove City, Ohio, on business and plans to return to Louisville in a day or two. Smith G. Baker, Sr., whose horses preceded him here from Nashville, Tenn., put in his appearance at Churchill Downs, Tuesday morning, and watched his racers indulge in their exercise gallops. Condition books embracing the first six days of the twelve-day meeting of the Maryland Jockey Club at Pimlico, reached Churchill Downs and are available at the office of racing secretary William H Shelley. • The three horses Gilbert Hardy campaigned for Mrs. Louise J. Hickman at Keeneland, were brought back to Louisville and placed in quarters at Douglas Park. . They are Arabs Arrow, Clark Handicap nominee, Tyr and Portmora. • .
