FAVOR NEUTRALITY LAW WASHINGTON, D. C, April 26.— The full weight of the four million odd members of the American Federation of Labor today was thrown against administration efforts to give President Roosevelt wider powers in dealing with foreign nations in event of war. An official statement of the federation, placed in the records of the Senate foreign relations committee conducting hearings on proposed neutrality measures, opposed any changes in the existing neutrality law. Paul Schanenberg, legislative representative of the A. F. of L., speaking on behalf of William Green, federation president, said: "We do not believe that this is the time to make changes in the neutrality law. The workers of the world want peace. They believe the best way to maintain it is to retain the present law."
