1 JAMAICA TURF NOTES | $ $ The Saratoga Stables Vblitant, a disappointment in the Chesapeake, was returned to Aqueduct. Trainer Jack Goldsborough will announce his Preakness plans later. Racing secretary Jack Campbell indicated that the field for the Wood Memorial would exceed his first estimates. Eight or more at present shape up as likely starters, with El Chico, Johnstown and Eight Thirty the outstanding ones. Vince Millerick arrived from California and joined the ranks of the handicappers at Jamaica. George Odom returned from Narragansett Park, where he saddled Early Delivery on Saturday, and reported that j6ckey Don Meade would remain at the New England course until Thursday. Walter Faust arrived from New Orleans, where he was detained due .to a siege of the grippe. Max Hirsch filed apprentice papers on Walter Warren, a nineteen-year-old boy. A. J. Joyner, dean of American trainers, was on hand to witness the performance of G. D. Wideners Eight Thirty on Tuesday. Frank J. Brady of the Empire City Racing Association was a visitor Tuesday and outlined the stake program for the summer meeting. Apprentice R. Nash will lose his apprentice allowance on July 19. The boy rode his first winner on that date. Warren Yarberry, who rode into prominence last summer, will lose his "bug" on May 19. A. G. Vanderbilts Impound, a candidate for the Wood Memorial, arrived at Jamaica from Baltimore. The colt will carry the A. G. Vanderbilt colors in the Jamaica stellar fixture. Jockey J. T. Malley arrived and reported to trainer F. E. Akes of the Woodland Farm stables, for which he will ride this summer. Jockey Lee Fallon is due here Friday and will ride Impound in the Wood Memorial. For the first time this season the commissioners in the main ring moved their stools to the outside to take advantage of the warm sun.
