1 KEENELAND TURF NOTES ] $ ■ $ Jockey H. Lindberg has been fined 0 for leaving the jockey room without permission of the stewards. The horses Frank Kearns took to Havre de Grace are Bull Lea, Easy Mon, Bay Carse, Greeny, Lisco and Star Chance. Jack Hanover has engaged J. E. Oros to ride Bala Ormont in the renewal of the Kentucky Oaks, and hopes to secure the services of Warren Yarberry for Montsin in the same stakes. J. J. Greely, Jr., reported that Shandon Farms Syracuse underwent a throat operation. Bryan Steele, who was a visitor at Keeneland Saturday, left for Detroit Monday. Steele will do the starting at the Fair Grounds meeting. Jockey Melvin Calvert, who went to Louisville to work several two-year-olds for Leo O. Donnell, returned here. Conn Smythe. who had planned to return to his Toronto home Sunday, has decided to remain here until the close of the meeting. The division of the Brown Hotel Stable trainer Tom Sanford brought here from Churchill Downs will be returned to that point Thursday. Sanford said Bobs Squad bucked his shins in his last race and would be out of competition for some time. Tom B. Young will rest his horses at Keeneland for several days before shipping them to North Randall for that meeting, which opens May 27. Bruce Mclntire and his brother Ralph were visitors, stopping off on their way to Fairmount Park, where their horses were shipped several days ago from the Fair Grounds in New Orleans. Clyde Van Dusen transferred the two-year-old Pollychilla and the good handicap horse Torchy to Churchill Downs. Torchy is a candidate for the Clark Handicap, featured number on the opening day card at the Louisville track. Eddie Arcaro returned from Havre de Grace Tuesday. Arcaro had the mount on Greentree Stables Day Off in the Chesapeake Stakes last Saturday. Robert Finnerty came over from Churchill Downs Tuesday and accepted the mount on Mexico City in the sixth race. The six horses W. E. Coburn had quartered at the trotting track for Conn Smythe were . moved to Keeneland Tuesday. Sir Marlboro and Skating Fool have been stabled at Keeneland since the arrival of the Smythe horses from New Orleans.
