1 CHURCHILL DOWNS NOTES"! ■ $ Leon Haas, who is here to ride Joe W. Browns T. M. Dorsett in the Derby, began accepting mounts Tuesday. He has given a call on his services to D. E. Stewart, trainer of the J. E. Widener horses, for the Bash-ford Manor Stakes. Stewart plans to start two horses in the stake and the stables contract rider, Warren Yarberry, will handle the other contestant. Jockey W. L. Johnson has been engaged to handle James W. Parrishs Centuple in the Bashford Manor Stakes. James C. Ellis, owner of a stable of horses here at the Downs and operator of Dade Park, arrived here and will remain to see Saturdays classic. Mrs. Ethel V. Mars, owner of the Milky Way Farm, was expected here Wednesday from her home in Chicago. She will remain for Saturdays Derby, in which her colors are expected to be carried by On Location. Jockey George Seabo notified trainer Louis Schaefer, conditioner of W. L. Branns Challedon, that he would be here Thursday.
