HOWARD LEADS AT TANFORAN 52,715 Distributed by San Bruno Track Over 2 4 -Day Period Trainers Beezley and Wilhelm Share Honors by Saddling Eleven Winners Each During Session. ! Tanforan, which opened on March 18 and concluded its meeting on April 22, fared better than expected in view of its opposition to the San Francisco Worlds Fair. The track gave away 52,715 in prize money, which was an average of ,363.12 daily, for the twenty-four days of sport. Charles S. Howard, owner of Kayak H. and Seabiscuit, had the most success as a money-winner, his colorbearers winning six races and ,370. T. Loeff was next on the list with winnings of ,075. Galapas, with ,450 in winnings, headed the horses, and G. Dye the riders with thirty-one winners. Training honors went to Earl Beezley and C. Wilhelm, who each saddled eleven winners.
