ADAMS FINALLY SEES DOWNS LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 2.— Little Johnny Adams, whose saddle artistry carried him to the top of the American Jockey list in 1937 and into second place last year, got his first look at Churchill Downs Monday morning. The Iola, la., reinsman, most of whose activity has been confined to Western tracks, got in today from New York to pilot William E. Boeings Porters Mite in tomorrows Derby Trial Stakes and Saturday in the sixty-fifth running of the Kentucky Derby. Adams, who won the Santa Anita Handicap this year,, astride Kayak II. has his heart set on winning the Derby and Porters Mite he believes has an excellent chance.
