Ketchell announced that Lady Genie had run her last race. The mare, now seven years old, will be retired to the breeding farm. Trainer R. Robertson received word from his son, jockey Alfred Robertson, that he had recovered from the chipped shoulder-blade sustained in a fall and that he would be back in the saddle this week. Condition books for the first ten days of the sixty-day meeting at Suffolk Downs were received at Narragansett Park and dis- tributed to horsemen Monday. The condition of Jack Phillips, member of "Buddy" Wingfields ground crew, who was kicked in the chest while schooling horses Saturday morning, was reported as good at Memorial Hospital, Pawtucket, Tuesday. It was expected that he would be able to leave the hospital within a few days. Stockholders of record at the close of business May 10 will be eligible to vote at the annual meeting of the Narragansett Racing Association, Inc., June 19, it was announced following a meeting of the board of directors Sunday night. The directors of Narragansett Park last night voted to donate the park to Palestine Temple for the annual Shrine Circus, to be held in June. The entire proceeds of the week will be devoted to the Shrines fund for the relief of crippled children. Jack Collins shipped in five head from Jamaica, N. Y. Jockey Raymond Adair, who recently injured his arm, will resume riding Wednesday. Adair rides for the Rosedale Stable. Among the recent arrivals from Maryland are J. J. Martin, with five, C. Simms with two, and H. Tomkins with two head. Elvin M. Myers, young apprentice from Chicago, joined the jockey colony. He rides at 105 pounds. Pat Galliger, placing judge and assistant racing secretary, was back in the stand Tuesday after being confined to his bed with a severe cold Monday. Believer, six-year-old gelding from Bristol Stable, was shipped here from New York. Lew Williams will train the horse, Tobias and Time Clock were placed on the stewards list after Mondays racing. Swahili, Erins Son and Nellie Mc remain on Buddy Wingfields schooling list. Trainer H. H. Brown is negotiating for the contract of apprentice Donald Batts, now held by R. Patterson. The boy will ride Panic Relief for Brown tomorrow. The following ruling by the stewards was issued: Tobias will not be permitted to start because of unruly behavior at the post. This precaution is taken to avoid injury to any rider. No lame horses to be permitted to start until approved by official veterinary, sixteen having been barred to date.
