JOCKEY CHRISTENS ON INJURED AGUA CALIENTE, Mexico, May 8.— Jockey Ray Christenson narrowly averted fatal injuries Saturday when thrown violently from Masham, which he rode to victory in the second race. The accident occurred after the running of the race, when passing the infield gap opposite the paddock, the horse became frightened and-crashed through the fence, throwing Christenson, who lay prone for a few moments before assistance reached him. After a hurried examination it was determined that Christenson suffered a broken nose and had several teeth loosened. After the incident, Masham ran away in the infield and after being apprehended, displayed a decided lameness.
