BUDDIE TREACY, at home in the going and well handled, began to move up slowly after reaching the final throe-eighths, secured room between TECHY and LIFELIKE soon after reaching the stretch, was on the inside the last sixteenth and, holding oti with determination, out finished LIFELIKE. The latter, forced to race wide throughout, improved her position gradually and fought it out gamely in the drive. TECHY had speed from the start, but began to tire after reaching the last eighth. PHARABOO showed a fair effort. FLY TIME showed speed in spots while having ample room throughout. PRINCE TORCH began slowlv and could not get up. ETHELS CHOICE failed to keep up. WACKY JACK had early speed. GALLEY SWEEP was outrun. BROOMIAN raced very wide much of th contest, swerved in the stretch and tired in the last eighth.. GOLDEN LASS bore out on the turn. LEONISSA was outrun. NAADJA, away fast and cleverly ridden, was between horses much of the early running, raced to the front on the outside of OURS approaching the stretch, raced to the inside in the last quarter and, much the best, drew out rapidly in the last three-sixteenths. OURS, well up from the start and on the inside for a half mile, swerved out on the stretch turn and tired under good pressure in the last quarter. ODDESA UPSET, in hand early, did not respond when called upon and tired in the stretch, but outstayed the others. JOJI T. began slowly. MALINDA B., suited by the going, raced under a steady hold for a half mile, responded when called upon and, wearing down MISS BALKO in a brisk drive, began to draw out in the last fifty yards. MISS BALKO, reserved off the pace, rallied strongly when called upon and held on well after taking command hut was not good enough. SWEPING DAME began well, but was taken in hand to follow the pace, dropped back on the turn, swung to the outside in the stretch and closed well under strong riding. SQUAW LADY was on the inside throughout, slowly shook off EMPLOYER when approaching the turn and, opening up a commanding lead when entering the stretch, continued well, but was not quite good enough. DIAVOLO BOY raced in hand for five-eighths, came to the outside in the stretch and closed well. ALLANWOOD was far out of it after the first eighth, but was racing well in the closing stages. DUNVEGAN followed the early pace under restraint, did not rally when placed to a drive and tired in the last eighth. ALL LADY saved much ground when under vigorous riding on the final turn and tired under greater pressure in the drive. WHICHAWAY never threatened.
