FOG SLACKENS SHIPS SPEED ABOARD S. S. EMPRESS OF AUSTRALIA, At Sea, May 8. — Thick fog slackened the speed of the ship bearing King George VI. and Queen Elizabeth to America today and caused the escorting warships to drop behind in single file formation as a precau- i tion against accident. The fog was encountered at about noon, ships time, and the Empress of Australias skipper ordered speed reduced to twelve knots. i
