MARSAlL moved into the lead on the outside rounding the stretch turn and drew clear, but had to be ridden hard at the end to retain his slight advantage. FLYING ARK closed strongly on the outside in. the run home and was wearing the winner down. MOHAWK CHEROKEE had no mishaps and saved ground throughout. LITTLE BUBBLES steadily improved position and finished stoutly. FREEPLAY closed a wide gap and came fast on the outside during the run home. The others tired. POT AU MINT worked way up in close quarters next to the inner rail in the last quarter, finishing courageously. TOPWAY came again in the stretch and was going well at the end. THURWAY tired rapidly the last eighth. HALF SHOES ran out rounding the first turn" and was pulled up. THE SPOTTER raced LADY ALL into defeat, but was hard pressed all during the final eighth to Stall off LEAP YEAR LADY. The latter came strongly on the outside of the opposition in the stretch and finished courageously. LADY ALL, a keen factor to the last eighth, saved ground, but tired steadily thereafter. MISS KATRINA raced fonvardly in the early stages, but tired. The others were always outpaced. FOURTH RACE 3-4 MILE Out of Chute. BILKAN saved ground, closed strongly during the run home and was wearing the winner down. HEDON raced forvvardly but on the outside of the opposition and hung nearing the end. GRAND MARIE closed up strongly on the outside through the stretch. SCOTTISH MARY and GOLD PUBLICITY both tired after showing early speed. Overweight — Gold Publicity, 2 pounds. GOLD SPRITE was going strongly when too late. BETTY REJOICE was eased up in the stretch when well beaten. QUEEN CLARICE was a forward factor from the start and held on gamely in the final test. STRAIGHT THRU came with a brilliant rush on the inside through the stretch, finishing very fast. HASTADA came again nearing the end. CARRYING TIME showed early speed, but tired steadily after reaching the stretch. Overweight — Copper Lad, 2 pounds. Corrected weight — Copper Lad, 110. HASTY WAVE closed steadily on the outside of the leaders rounding the far turn and, continuing strongly through the stretch, drew away into an easy lead in thc last sixteenth. SPEARMAN took command approaching the stretch turn, had no excuses, finished tiring and was doing his best to stall off MERGE. The latter set thc early pace, came again nearing the end and finished resolutely. HIGH EXPLOSIVE saved ground m thc run home. BROADWAY GIRL displayed some early speed. JUSTOLD finished well.
