DARK SEEKER, slow to begin, swung to the outside when beginning to move up approaching the turn, where she continued to improve her position without need of urging, closed resolutely under vigorous riding through the last three-sixteenths and was up in the last few strides. MISS LIZZIE, on the inside throughout, "had speed from the start and held on well after drawing out in the stretch, but was not good enough. OTTOMAN was a strong factor from the start and tired slightly near the end, but outstayed PAWN TICKET. The latter moved up with a rush in the stretch, but hung in the closing stages. HIGH POLISH raced well. AZAFRAN finished fast. CAPE RACE moved up on the inside on the turn, swerved entering the stretch, was between horses in the last eighth and held on fairly well. CITY TALK, away fast and saving ground after the first sixteenth, was under strong riding the last five-sixteenths .and, holding on with determination, outgamed ENDY. The latter raced to the leader on the outside rounding the turn, got to the front under increased pressure in the stretch and held on well, but could not hold the winner. VALDINA BABE was strongly urged from the start, did not threaten the leaders, but was much the best of the others. SKATING MAD had no mishaps. QUENEMO, taken back early, was not prominent thereafter. KENOSHA met interference soon after the start. REIGH DEAR broke to the outside and had little chance. STAR O MANNA, away slowly, showed a flash of early speed. Overweight — Skating Mad, li pounds. PRINCESS TORCH, kept on the inside throughout and a good distance back for a half mile, squeezed through while closing with improved speed and, getting to the front in the final strides, was ready to draw out. GAY TROUBADOUR, also outrun early, rallied in the late stages and finished strongest. BILL DONOGHUE, repeatedly interfered with while racing on the inside the first half mile, raced to the front after coming out in the stretch, but faltered near the end. ADA W. had speed from the start, bore out badly on the stretch turn, then came again when straight in the stretch, but tired in the closing stages. RETTEF showed speed in spots. BURNING WOOD failed to stay after showing speed to the stretch. IDEAL TUNGI quit after a half mile. PEHAMIS forced thc early pace under a steady hold, hung on in resolute fashion while under strong riding the entire final quarter, but was not quite good enough. SYRACUSE displayed fine speed from the start, was aided by good rating and only gave way in the last sixteenth. SKY BALL showed a good effort. FLYING LILL. away fast and kept under strong reserve while racing on the inside the first half mile, raced to the leaders easily after going to thc outside in the back stretch, took command when approaching the streteh and, steadied while drawing out, won with speed in reserve. BALA ORMONT, well placed from the start and rated along under restraint to the last three-eighths, held on gamely under strong pressure thereafter. RUDE AWAKENING bettered her position gradually from a slow beginning, raced wide during the last half mile and tired in the stretch, but vastly excelled the others. MONTSIN closed well. DINNER DATE was under energetic riding after a half mile and quit in the final quarter. TORCH STICK raced wide after the first half mile. SPIN ON lost much ground on thc first turn. KNEE DEEP had r.o mishaps. STAR BANNER began slowly, failed to rally when called upon and was never a serious contender. LINA MAC showed little.
