More than 00,000 will be distributed among horsemen during the twenty-seven! days of the Lincoln Fields meeting which gets under way a week from Thursday. The program book, off the press several days ago, contains conditions for eleven ,500 added stakes, nominations for which already; are closed, and for numerous overnight fea tures to which ,000 purses are attached. * The Lincoln Fields Jockey Clubs decision; to offer eleven added money features instead of a lesser number of greater value, has struck a popular note among owners of stables and they have responded with liberal nominal tions. These subscriptions are now in tha process of being compiled and will be rel leased for publication within a few days, That the Crete track expects to get off t6 a flying start is seen by the program whicti has been arranged for the opening which comes on a day ordinarily an off one for patronage. The wide interest evident in the return of the sport to the Chicago sector has prompted officials of the track to stage the six furlongs Crete Handicap, which will ap peal to the best sprinters, and an attractiy array of supporting races. i ATTRACTIVE OPENING CARD. T1 Besides the Crete, which carries an added prize of ,500, the inaugural card includes the Ivanhoe Purse, an allowance race at a, mile for three-year-olds, and the Kensington Purse, at a mile and sixteenth, for top gradej platers. ...
