DOCTOR TIM, restrained off the pace for a half mile, moved into command at the head of the stretch and won drawing clear. HELMOR, rushed into conttention at the quarter post, went into the lead at the half and held on well, but could not withstand the winner. CLASP broke well and saved ground throughout, but tired in the drive. FORMAX closed a gap. ONWENTSIA saved ground when she slipped through on the rail on the stretch turn, but could not get to the leaders. CLOUDET and BRILLIANT BAG tired badly. The lattpr, also far back in the parly running, came fast through the last quarter and just missed getting up. GANNONNIC, allowed to drop out of the early running, moved up fast through the stretch, was impeded and lacked racing room in the last sixteenth. DAME GRUNDY ran well placed the entire journey, but could not reach the leaders. MAD CAREER showed little. GAWAINE tired. KINGSHIGHWAY and LITTLE KIEV were through before reaching the stretch.
