1 PIMLICO TURF NOTES | o 4 R. Emmett Murphy, of Washington, D. C, heading a large delegation of visitors from the capitol, was down for the Preakness. Albert Dosch, horsemens bookkeeper at Pimlico, stated that during the first eleven days of the Maryland Jockey Club meeting one dozen claims were allowed. Those changing ownership were Prattler, Domkin, Dark Sun, Wise Shine, Guest of Honour II., Burner, Part One, Blablah, Idle Elf and The Queen. John P. Turner, who will serve as racing secretary at Delaware Park, accepted some applications for licenses for that meeting. He also distributed license blanks to horsemen intending to race there. Mort Shaw, mutuel manager, who operates departments at Arlington Park, Santa Anita and Washington Park, arrived from Chicago to witness the forty-ninth Preakness Stakes. Jockey Manny Berg has affiliated himself with the stable trained by Frank Garrett, which includes horses of C. F. Hockley, Howard Bruce and others. Berg will accompany the stable to Delaware Park in a few days. D. Milton Gutman, of Wheeling, W. Va., accompanied by his wife and Mr. and Mrs! P. Front of the same city, were interested spectators on Preakness day. Herman P. Conkling, steward at many leading tracks, returned from Narragansett Park to view another Preakness Stakes. For a sum that was not made public R. E. P. Hoover purchased the four-year-old filly Red Glare, winner of the seventh race last Friday, from A. B. Hanger. C. M. Feltner transferred a dozen horses to Charles Town, W. Va., Saturday morning and another shipment embraced eight members of the J. B. Bond stable. A draft of three horses of the W. E. Boeing stable, in charge of the trainer T. Horning,-moved away from Pimlico Saturday for Belmont Park to be concentrated with other members of the stable already on the Nassau County racing grounds. Beverly Broun, of the West Virginia Racing Commission, was present for the running of the Preakness Stakes with a large party of friends.
