WISE HILDRED raced to the front at once, opened up a good lead and, rated along in front under slight restraint, increased her advantage steadily and won with speed to spare. GRANDPAS BOY hard ridden early and unable to gain a forward position during the first half mile, closed with a rush through . the stretch run. MR. DEEDS, hard ridden while in closest chase of the pace, made a determined effort to reach the pacemaker, was not good enough and tired during the last sixteenth. OLD DOMINION closed v willingly after being far back early. HASTINOLA was hard ridden to gain a prominent position and was unable to make un any ground during the stretch run. LEO D., prominent for a half mile, retired steadily the remainder of the trip. EPITAPH, hustled to the front, was under reserve while meeting a determined early bid from WORKING GIRL, drew clear when ncanng the stretch, had EVA R. hemmed in on the rail nearing the eighth post and was clear at the end. GOSTER, well placed and slightly reserved early, came willingly in the stretch run. EVA R., slow to settle into her best stride, moved up steadily on the inside, was in close quarters after saving ground into the stretch and continued willingly to the close, althoueh unable to gain ample racing room - GHOST TRAIN, well up all the way, was unable to close any ground during the closing test. SAVITAR, under occasional pressure while disputing the lead in the run through the back stretch, was taken back of the pace and, steadied along in closest chase of MAJOR B. until straightening out in the stretch, closed in determined fashion and was along in the concluding stride. PETER ARGO, slow to begin and far back early, came stoutly in the stretch and just failed to be along in time. FLOAT AWAY worked his way up steadily and came gamely in the final drive. MAJOR B., restrained early, opened up a good lead after leaving the back stretch, rated was along under slight reserve, but gave way fast during the last seventy yards. MODERN YOUTH raced well placed all the way. GRISETTE tired after going the opening three-eighths. HOLTON was unable to reach the leaders. HOPTOWN LASS moved up steadily on the inside down the back stretch, was almost on even terms with the leaders when caught in close quarters and had to be taken back. TODDLE ON was restrained back of the pace for the first half mile, began bettering her position during the last three-sixteenths and was along inside the last seventy yards to wear down LAKE VIEW and had enough left to hold the fast finishing UNEASY. The latter came stoutly on the outside through the stretch run and was going determinedly at the end. STAGE BEAUTY, in closest chase of the pace, was unable to cope with the bids of the first two, but held on gamely to outlast LAKE VIEW. The latter took command at once, opened up a good lead and, rated along under slight reserve, tired in the last seventy yards. CHIEF NADI was going willingly at the close after being outpaced early. PAGLIACCI was steadied along in back of the pace while SUN INPLAY and BE JABBERS disputed the command, moved up steadily after leaving the back stretch to gain command, responded gamely to hard riding through the stretch and had enough in reserve to hold safe the challenge of CLODION. The latter, in close quarters in the run to the first turn and blocked repeatedly in the run down the back stretch, moved up stoutly when obtaining clear sailing and finished wearing down the winner slowly at the close. WAR MINSTREL, reserved until the last five-sixteenths, came gamely through the stretch run. BE JABBERS, in closest pursuit of the leaders early, tired under pressure. SUN INPLAY faltered after going five-eighths. WISE PRINCE, on the outside all the way, was unable to threaten when placed under urging. OUR KETCHAM quit. SIXTH RACE 1 1-16 MILES. PADDYS SISTER, in closest pursuit of the early pace, made a determined bid to reach the winner nearing the eighth post, but tired during the last sixteenth. WROUGHT IRON improved his position gradually and finished with good energy. INDIAN HEAD was steadied along back of the pace and saved ground entering the stretch, but flattened out when placed under punishment. STIPULATE was unable to reach the leaders.
