SAUNBERSTOWN EASILY BEST Has Little Trouble Capturing Beulah Park Headliner — Jockey Keiper Again in Limelight. COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 13.— Ideal conditions m once more prevailed and the largest crowd of the meeting journeyed to the Beulah Park course today to witness the sport. Randall Anderson, Ohio racing commissioner, was a visitor from Youngstown, Ohio. Fred Burton, who has been acting as racing secretary here, departed for Charles Town, W. Va., .and Owen Pons will serve in that capacity for the remainder of the Beulah Park meeting. Judge T. C. Bradley leaves for the same point tonight, and S. C. Nuckols will succeed him, arriving Monday from Narragansett Park. Close and exciting finishes marked a majority of the races which necessitated the use of the camera before the official placing was displayed. Marsail, Twosome, The Spotter and Born Lucky were all hard pressed to score in their respective races by narrow margins. Time and Again led throughout in the fifth dash to eventually win rather handily. Jockey P. Keiper, the leading rider at this meeting, added to his already substantial score when he piloted two additional winners, Marsail and The Spotter. Taking command shortly after the start, R. Mozers Saunderstown displayed the most speed and eventually drew away into a rather easy lead during the final furlong of the Charles F. Michael Memorial Purse, feature at Beulah Park this afternoon. Queen Clarice, a forward factor throughout, barely lasted to save the second award from Straight Thru, which closed with a brilliant rush through the stretch. Carrying Time, an early contender, tired steadily in the run home.
