1 NARRAGANSETT TURF NOTES f o Gansett officials will scatter following the close of the meeting Saturday. Racing secretary Bob Shelley and starter "Buddy" Wingfield will go to Miami, Fla., where both are building new homes, to spend a few days before resuming their duties, Shelley at Arlington Park, Chicago, and Wingfield to Hollywood Park, Inglewood, Calif. Assistant racing secretary Pat Galliger, who also serves as placing judge, will go to Canada, where he is secretary for ten Canadian tracks. Paddock judge Tommy Steele, patrol judge Bob McAuliffe, and steward Sam Nuckols will go to North Randall, Ohio; placing judge Duke Dahlstrom will go to Lincoln Fields, Chicago, and stewards Tom Thorp and Frank Bryan will report to Suffolk Downs, where judge Bryan will serve as Massachusetts state steward. All of the officials who served at the spring meeting will return for the summer meeting, which opens August 14. Hart Dernham, of Suffolk Downs, was at Gansett distributing entry blanks.
