Start good and slow. Won handily; second and third driving. TROLIGHT, fencing cleanly at all of his fences, was restrained back of the leaders for a mile and one-half, was placed to a drive after clearing the twelfth fence, drove up on the inside of the leaders to assume command at the final turn and, continuing stoutly, held BUCK LANGHORNE safe approaching the finish. The latter, steadied for the first mile, weaved between horses to enter contention at the twelfth jump, was vigorously urged, but could not engage the winner. SISYPHUS movd forward rapidly at the eighth fence, overhauled TOMS BOY, but tired in the last half mile after drawing clear. WAR PORT dropped back early, moved into contention nearing the twelfth jump, but could not stay in the final drive. LATERAL PASS was held safe. MISS SUPERIOR tired after going one mile. SEA TED fell on the flat rounding the turn into the stretch. GUATEMALA lost rider at the seventh jump and TOMS BOY fell at the twelfth obstacle. . Scratched— 68968 Yammer, 133. COURSING was prominent early, responded strongly when reaching the stretch and, finishing stubbornly, was up nearing the end. CHATABIT, a stout contender in the early running, displaced DINAMITA when reaching the stretch, was vigorously handled, but could not stall off the winner. WAR GRAND, permitted to fall back after the start, rallied when shaken up and closed strongly. MAEWHISK, ridden with bad judgment, was sent up on the inside of DINAMITA on the turn, was caught in very tight quarters, then was caught between horses in the stretch drive. KAPTIME came eamely in the late stages. DINAMITA sprinted clear early, but quit. ZELITONE was weakly handled. SANOMA was messed about badly and raced on her own courage. LADY TIMAROLE was forced to lose ground. BARRACA refused to break and was left at the gale. JADAAN, away well, but taken in hand, improved his position gradually on the outside leaving the back stretch, took command inside the final sixteenth and drew out roadilv. ODDESA LAD moved up fast on the outside after the opening quarter, engaged IDYLLIC a sixteenth out, but was unable to withstand the winner. The latter raced JINX into submission, drew out into a comfortable lead under mild rating but tired when challenged. TUTTICURIO, pinched back at the start, raced wide and showed a good effort. MISS SELECTION lacked early speed. Won driving; second and third the same. _ DOMKIN was stoutly urged to hold a contending position in the early racing, drove through on the inside of PARADISE GIRL when reaching the stretch, closed determinedly and was up in the last twenty yards. PARADISE GIRL displayed good speed while setting the pace, was kept out off the rail and fought it out courageously when the final test came. LA SCALA, weakly handled, was allowed to run out badly j Continued on twenty-second page. J PIMLICO Continued from third page. after the start, continued very wide and finished with excellent speed. STEPINFRED, poorly handled, was steered wide into the stretch while racing close to the pacemaker and lost all chance. FLYING GLEE was a keen contender for the first half mile. NICKY was pinched back in the first sixteenth. MISS MAKER could not reach contention. DARK RAPTURE broke tardily and raced in dull fashion. UNICO was never a threat. CHALLEDON, handled nicely, was sent into position going to the first turn, saved ground for the first seven-eighths, moved forward nearing the final turn to engage the leaders, swung to thc outside when movine: to the front on the stretch turn, was urged steadily and had enough in reserve to draw out gradually approaching the finish. GILDED KNIGHT was rated nicely while going closest to the pacemaker, challenged strongly on the final turn to engage JOHNSTOWN, then saved ground in the stretch and finished with excellent courage. VOLITANT fractious at the gate and delaying the start, was eased in thc first couple of strides to avoid being crowded, was permitted to settle in stride, then worked his way forward in the last half mile to finish with good speed. IMPOUND had clear racing room, raced on thc outside, could not cain when making his run leaving the back stretch, but continued well to the finish. JOHNSTOWN was quick at the start and set a steady pace under steadying restraint until nearing the final turn, was shaken up vigorously when challenged I by GILDED KNIGHT, then flattened out badly. PARSCOUT broke off stride when unprepared at the start, trailed her field to the final turn, drove through on the inside of the leaders rounding the turn, then came around KENTY to take command in the last eighth and drew out nicely under pressure. KENTY was made entirely too much use of getting to the front and tired after disposing of early opposition. SHORT DISTANCE outbroke her field, was stoutly urged to keep up with KENTY and tired while finishing in the middle of the track in the last quarter mile. REX FLAG was placed to strong urging after going five-eighths, but failed to better his position. CONQUER was hurried along to force the early pace, but appeared to labor in the footing. MR.
