Daily Racing Form Speed Ratings .The haCdicajPJer and statisticians of DAILY RACING FORM have evolved a Speed Rating system that is far superior to any yet devised. Instead of being based merely on track records, the ratlD are based primarily on the constant, or mean, speed of the track, allowances thus being made for variation in footing. By this method, when a horse earns a rating of. say andi, " for a six-furlong race at Belmont Park, he earns the same rating by the same effort at any other track. Speed ratings are shown in the past performances after the claiming price er race classification.
