Three-Year-Old Fillies In "Westchester Purse Anna Christie Expected to Be Favored in Delaware Park Dash DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 28. The West Chester Purse, a six-furlong event for three-year-old fillies, features tomorrows program at this course. Five lassies, including three prospective starters in the Delaware Oaks, have been named overnight. The stakes eligibles in tomorrows ,000 event are Cornelius V. Whitneys Mackinaw, Mill River Stables Peace of Mind and Nydrie Stables Monogamy. Christiana Stables Anna Christie and Mrs. William L. Branns Challalita complete" the small West Chester field. Possibly the favorite in tomorrows event will be a non-eligible for the Oaks, for Anna Christie appears a solid selection at the abbreviated distance. The daughter of Hypnotist II. Imperial Ann won several sprints in clever fashion earlier in the year and in her most recent start, was beaten only three lengths by Blue Helen in 1:11 at Garden State. Since that effort she has been freshened up, which seems to have done her a world of good. Mackinaw, a daughter of Mahmoud and Mackerel, was shipped here especially for the closing day Oaks. Tomorrows event, in which Mackinaw will carry top weight of 122 pounds, should serve as an excellent prep race for the more trying Oaks. Should Mackinaw be returned victorious, she will have earned the right to accompany Dusty Legs in the 7,500 finale. Likely to show improvement tomorrow is Peace of Mind, a stakes winner as a juvenile last year. The Luro-trained campaigner made his seasonal debut last week and was far from disgraced while racing behind Seven League, King Midas and Mariyunk. With that race under his girth, Peace of Mind should be a stout contender for West Chester honors. Monogamy and Challalita have raced at the meeting, and with very little success. Challalita showed improvement in her last effort and finished second behind Invective.
