1 Diamond Dick Seeking Repeat In Detroits Tom Thorp Purse White Campaigner to Have Crack Reward, Shout About And Delhannah as Rivals FAIR GROUNDS, Detroit, Mich., June 28. Two good races top tomorrows program at this course in the Tom Thorp, an allowance affair, at six furlongs, and the Pat Stanton, at the same distance, fashioned for three-year-olds and under claiming tags from 2,000 to 0,000. Two races over the Lewis turf course, a race for novice riders and a sprint of five furlongs for two-year-olds, round out the excellent and diversified card. In the Thorp, named for the late newspaperman and sports official, Mrs. George C. Whites Diamond Dick will attempt to repeat his score in his latest essay. The son of Rolls Royce has been consistently close in his local efforts, while failing to win, but, in his most recent test, he turned back worthy rivals in heavy going to attest his fitness. It is likely that the racing strip will be fast for the Thorp, but Diamond Dick is at his best and has a nice flight of speed and considerable class that compel recognition for his chance. Capable of Upset Expected to offer stiff competition to Diamond Dick is Theodore D. Buhls Crack Reward, who has a victory over him at the meeting to his credit. Running kindly, the son of Reaping Reward could upset calculations. Another who is definitely in-the Thorp picture is W. A. Delaneys Delhannah, who gave a creditable account of herself in defeat in the La Salle Handicap, where she met the best speedsters quartered on the grounds. Mrs. Lottie Wolf has named Shout About, whose third and second in two races here demand consideration for her chances. She has been racing with worthy contemporaries and a tally here would not come in the nature of a surprise. Mrs. E. H. Beezleys hard-hitting but unfortunate Knights Gift needs only good racing fortune to win some portion of this purse, while Mrs. J. R. Collins Fourth Degree, twice winner here, cannot be disregarded. Bubble Gum, from the Bosons Farm, gets another chance to show that his victory over Diamond Dick was not all luck. R. S. McLaughlins Gregalach has shown little in the way of recommendation while W. L. Huntleys Golden Sky will be making his first local appearance. The sophomores in the Pat Stanton also are very evenly matched. Mrs. K. T. Maxwells Play Again has demonstrated that she is partial to this racing strip by win- JOCKEY S. BROOKS Was astride the winners Istan and Shy Guy on yesterdays Arlington Park program. ning two races. Henry Forrests Traveler, who earned his first brackets here recently, came back to win another race. Jim Boy-H, from the stable of A. E. Harper, turned in a nice effort to be second over the turf course in his latest venture, and could be troublesome against adversaries of this calibre. Mrs. Lottie Wolfs High Breeze filly, Floral Trail, flashed early speed in both her local engagements, but weakened at the end. She should benefit by those tests, to come up to this race in top shape. Hasty House Farm will be represented by Dear Doggie, a winner earlier at the meeting. Late Breeze, another who was able to win and finish second at this session, will represent T. D. Buhl and the field is completed by Belmont Beauty, from the stable of W. W. Jones, who has had only one race over this course.
