Heavy Stall Application List for Madison Meeting MADISON, Nebr., June 28. Following the termination of the current Ak-Sar-Ben meeting on Monday, July 5, racing in the cornhusker state will shift to Madison for the forthcoming Madison Downs session which will get under way on Thursday, July 8, and conclude on Saturday, July 15. The thoroughbred sport at Madison is conducted under the auspices of the Madison County Agricultural Society, a nonprofit organization which also sponsors the annual Madison Fair, which is well known and patronized by residents of the northeastern part of the state. Earl J. Moyer, chairman of the Nebraska State Racing Commission, and first vice-president of the National Association of State Racing Commissioners, also serves as secretary of the agricultural society. August Boysen, superintendent of Madison Downs, announced that more horsemen have thus far applied for stalls than ever before in the history of the half-mile course, and racing on a higher plane than in previous years in assured. The racing strip has been reconditioned during the past several weeks, and appears in its best condition. Madison will receive the bulk of its horses from Ak-Sar-Ben.
