CLEF was forwardly placed trom the start, rallied to press the pace in midstretch, but was not good enough. KILLEYBEGS was taken in hand and steadied when unable to secure racing room on the first turn, improved position nearing the stretch, but lacked a closing rally. RED BANKER was hustled up to assume the lead nearing the half mile, disposed-of HEAD SHOW nearing the stretch and widened advantage steadily in the final furlong, although drifting out TIME O GLORY was forwardly placed from the start while saving ground, but was no match. LAMPLIGHTER was unable to improve position in the final quarter mile. CUSTODY was well placed while on the outside early, but was unable to menace the leaders in the drive. HEAD SHOW weakened steadily in the stretch. DR. MAC had early speed. NEXT MORNING was off well, but lacked early speed and was never a factor. PITY was hustled to the front shortly after the start, was nicely rated while setting the pace to the stretch and drew out swiftly in the final furlong. PENNY DREADFUL was slow to settle in best stride, came slightly wide while rallying entering the stretch, but was no match. ROGUISH MOOD raced closest to the winners pace throughout and just failed to hold PENNY DREADFUL. STRAY SHOT was off very slowly, improved position gradually on the turn, but was unable to menace the leaders. WEEPING WILLOW lacked early speed. OCHITA went very wide while improving position and leaving the backstretch and lost much ground entering the stretch. FOXY FOUNDLING was never a factor. FOURTH RACE 3-4 MILE out of chute. ISLAM PRINCE was slow to settle In best stride, circled the field while rallying boldly in the early stretch and wore down FLYING TARTAR in the final stride. The latter was in the thick of contention from the beginning, came through on the inside entering the stretch, got to the front of PANACEA about fifty yards from the finish, but just failed to resist the winner. PANACEA was hustled to the front shortly after the start and held on well in the drive while between horses. AC0NDALE was prominently placed throughout, but was not good enough. RIAR BLACK lacked early speed and was never a factor. PLANE SHADOW saved ground throughout STEPINTHDARK weakened after vying with PANACEA for the early lead. BUCK ASH was forwardly placed from the start, rallied to press the pace entering the stretch, but was not good enough. HERE I AM was slow to settle in best stride, responded willingly when put to a drive in the early stretch and closed well. PICKLE BEETS came through on the inside while rallying entering the stretch and held on well. CHEEK was unable to menace the leaders in the drive. STILTS failed to respond when urged. EDDIEOW was slow to settle into best stride, improved position swiftly entering the stretch, then was unable to menace the leader in the drive. HAPPY C. was prominently placed all the way and had no mishap. SONADORA raced within striking distance of the leaders to the stretch, rallied to press the pace at the furlong pole, then appeared to hang nearing the finish. KHYBER PASS saved ground throughout and was not unduly punished in the drive. TOURELAY went evenly. COLONEL OF was well placed on the outside in the early stages, then gave way in the drive. BRIARCLIFF was nicely rated within striking distance of the leaders to the stretch, wrested the lead on the outside of RIAR RED nearing the furlong pole and held sway thereafter. RIAR RED was on the outside while maintaining a narrow advantage over DUNDER to the stretch and fought it out willingly with the winner in the drive. DUNDER weakened steadily in the final sixteenth. DAM0S was unable to menace the leaders while saving ground in the stretch CHOW gave way steadily in the final furlong. THATS HIM was never a factor.
