SEA BEES was prominent throughout, but lacked a rally when set down for the drive. ROUGH CLOUD was allowed to lag far behind early and could not seriously threaten while rallying. SUNLETTE tired after a half-mile. SYPHON had speed in spots. MARINE VICTORY was outrun. ELLA BURGOO tired. SIS BOOM BAA faltered badly. ROUGH FEATHERS raced in the first flight from the start, disposed of DRAW ONE when ready and won with speed in reserve. The latter moved through along the inside to reach contention in the opening furlong and held on fairly well, but was no match. DOREENS DREAM showed good speed to reach the leaders on the turn, then weakened. CEDAR BRAND showed good speed for a half mile. KENSINGTON GAL broke tardily and was in close quarters early. HOMING PIGEON sprinted into a clear lead, was steadied in advance, saved ground rounding the turn and held on tenaciously to outfinish REIGH FORAY. The latter moved to the leader while going impressively on the turn, then hung under pressure through the stretch. NORWEST was steadied to the quarter pole, moved menacingly along the inside, then failed to make up ground in the final, furlong. BO MOWLEE was through early, as was SUN DANCE. The latter, always forwardly placed, was getting to the winner at the end. GUIGNOL loomed a threat in the early stretch, then hung. PRETTY NYMPH was outrun early and closed with good energy. GLORY BE showed an even effort. FALSELY stopped badly when unable to obtain command, DECOY could not keep up. LOCK AND KEY was under stout restraint and fencing well while setting the pace, turned back repeated challenges by RANK and drew clear on the final flat to win easily. RANK always prominent and hard held early, made several attempts to wrest the lead from LOCK AND KEY, but was no match. CHARIOTEER tired badly after the first mile. ZODIAC II. was never able to seriously threaten. LOCHINCHA showed nothing. TEA-MAKER made a bad landing at the first hurdle and again at the third, then was pulled up when .-riders foot came out of the stirrups and part of his equipment broke.
