PUNXSY outran field to take an early lead, drew clear before a quarter mile, saved ground and held on gamely to stave off the bid of PETES PLAYMATE. The latter, forwardly placed on the inside, rallied when roused and was catching the winner at the end. MARBLEHEAD, slow to settle in best stride, finished with a late rush between horses. TEXAS SCORE forced the pace to the final turn, then weakened. RIP SNORT closed stoutly with a belated rush on the inside. BULLET BILL raced evenly. DELA SANDS had no mishap. GRAFETTE flashed brief speed. SERVICE BOUND showed nothing. JUAN flatttened out after a half-mile. The others were never prominent. LYNCH showed good speed throughout, held a slight advantage entering the stretch, then continued gamely after giving way. VAN-TIME forced the pace throughout, held on well when roused, but was not good enough. CELTICS went evenly and had no mishap, BE PROUD, fractious at the gate, broke sluggishly and was unable to reach serious contention. BLUE CROSS raced wide throughout. LENWELL showed nothing. ROY broke alertly, assumed command . on the final turn and drew clear to win with rider looking back. EASY DON took command soon after the start, dropped back going to the turn, then came again on the inside, but was unable to menace the leader. LINDEN BELLE, forwardly placed, rallied mildly when straightened for the drive. IRMAS JIM showed a good effort. KING ALLA failed to respond to late pressure. ILLUSTRIOUS, slow to begin, slipped through on the inside to close with good energy. TOR MEL flashed early speed. PLAYANNA raced evenly. NO FORAY moved readily on the far turn, then flatttened out. KANDYCAL broke sluggishly, raced green in the early stages, moved rapidly on the outside leaving the backstrelch to circle the leaders and won with plenty to spare. TILENNY improved position steadily to challenge entering the stretch, but was unable to match strides with the winner. REPORTABLE drew clear after a quarter mile, saved ground and held on well under pressure. PETMESOME weakened in the late stages. ARIEL BRIGADE forced the pace, tired near-ing the furlong pole and swerved slightly. KINGROSA showed an even effort. BEAMING MOOSE had no mishap. JURY RIG was unable to keep up. DIZZY WEAVER showed nothing. HYDROVAL was outrun CYNTHIAS GIRL began slowly, bolted to the inside before going a quarter, was straightened and galloped back of the field. ST. GLORY LUNGED INTO THE FENCE DURING THE POST PARADE, UNSEATING RIDER AND INJURING RIGHT SHOULDER. SHE WAS ORDERED SCRATCHED AND ALL WAGERS ON HER WERE REFUNDED. COMENOW opened a clear lead soon after the start, was steadied while setting the pace, increased the margin when roused and was in hand at the finish. ALDRIDGE kept close to the pace under steadying restraint, then moved steadily when set down to cut the leaders margin in the drive. ELK HILLS saved ground to improve position in the final quarter. NERVESTA was well placed and had no mishap. JOBLOTS went evenly. MATCHUP lacked early speed. FLANGE showed nothing. DOWNEY B. tired steadily after brief early speed. CALYDON was never a threat. VALDIVIA quit HOMESPUN forced the pace for six furlongs, then flattened out. STILL LIFE was fractious at the start, reared backwards and unseated the jockey, then showed nothinq in the running. ATOMIC WAVE set a rapid pace while saving ground and held on tenaciously under a drive. RADAR MAN, never far back of the J leaders, rallied mildly in the final eighth. LIBERTY ANDY, always a forward factorweakened slightly nearing the end. JIMPIN raced evenly. BRAS TEDDY was unable to reach the leaders while racing on the outside and sulked in the late stags. OPEN PALM raced in closest attendance of the pacefrom the start, made up ground in the late stages, but could not reach the wihner. EMPUJON was well placed and had no mishap.
