CAESAR B. was within striking distance of the pace from the start, circled the leaders to assume command leaving the backstretch, saved ground thereafter and held COLD RAY safe in Ihe drive. The latter entered contention gradually on the final turn, came to the outside while challenging entering the stretch, but was not good enough. WEYANOKE was in a contending position entering the stretch, but was unable to menace the leaders. MASTERDOM failed to rally. BULLGAR made up ground gradually in the late stages. MAD PAST and CROSS COUNTRY vied for the early lead to the far turn, then gave way badly. Overweight Weyanoke, 2 pounds; Dusty Ribbon, 2; Mad Past, 1.
