ARTHURIAN was nicely steadied when displaced by ONWARD MARCH entering the backstretch, remained closest to the pace and willingly regained the lead when urged for the stretch drive, then held on doggedly under heavy punishment and lasted. BLACK PEPPER was gradually sent into closer contention from between horses, was carried a bit wide into the stretch, then closed determinedly and was getting to the winner. REUNION saved ground while outrun, then swung to the middle of the track for clear racing in the stretch run and closed with a belated rush. DEEP TEXAS made a rapid move to reach a forward position on the far turn, was then steadied rounding into the stretch, appeared ready to come on when urged, but weakened.
