Notable Gathering at Annual Kings Plate Eye Dinner TORONTO, Ont., May 26.— J. Samuel Perlman, publisher of Daily Racing Fqrm, entertained a notable gathering here" at the Royal York Hotel last night. The occasion was the Daily Racing Forms annual Kongs Plate eve dinner, a largely attended affair which is held in conjunction with Perlmans regular attendance at Woodbine for the running of the Canadian, turf classic. He was accompanied by columnist Nelson Dunstan. Included in the gathering were: chairman J. TupperBigelow of the Ontario Racing Commission, and vice-chairman George C. Hendrie, who is also a director of the Ontario Jockey Club; Col. K. R. Marshall, president of the Ontario Jockey Club; E. P. Taylor, OJC director, who is widely known as an owner and breeder; H. S. Gausby, manager of Thornclif f e Park Racing Association; Fred S. Orpen, chief of the extensive Orpen racing interests; W. J. Risewick, supervisor of racing for the Ontario Racing Commission;- W. At Hewitt, also of the commission staff, and V. J. Sheridan, president of the Ontario division of the HBPA. Many prominent horsemen, a majority who had Kings Plate entrants, also attended. In this group were: J. E. Frowde Seagram, director of the Ontario Jockey Club; Carr Hatch, owner and breeder, and* his brother, Douglas Hatch, who-follows the family tradition with a small stable this year; Harry Addison; Charles Hemstead, noted owner and breeder; Frank Conklin, vne of Canadas leading breeders; John Stuart, Walter Fitzgerald and H.C. Burton, of the Bur-Fit stable Gil Darlington, manager of E; P. Taylors National Stud Farm; Lou Chesler, Norris Fishman and a host of others.
