Clarkes Jeannie C, a "quick" daughter of Alaking and Bola Mowlee, showed both speed and gameness this afternoon in accounting for the featured Havre de Grace Breeders Stakes over Mrs. Henry H. Hechts Blue Rhymer. In third position was N. J. Angellos Pinocchio. Jeannie C, who had her seasonal debut delayed until earlier this week, at which time she scored a galloping 12-length victory over maidens, was strongly handled by the veteran Rocco Sisto and prevailed by two and one-half lengths. Her time of :53% this afternoon was one-fifth of a second slower than her Monday effort, but the manner in which she won was more impressive, for she was forced to run down Blue Rhymer after being unable to head that filly for the early lead. Jeannie C. was a .00 favorite with the crowd of 15,129 and earned ,900 for the ,260 gross purse. Jeannie C. and Blue Rhymer received practically all the support, with resultant minus pools of 08.10 in the place and ,466.10 in the show wagering. In addition to the winners share of the purse, owner-trainer Clarke received 00 for having bred the successful filly. Mr. and Mrs. Clarke and daughter "Bunny" then were presented a pair of trophies following the running, one from James P. Ross, Sr., and one from Walter A. Edgar, newly elected president of the Maryland Horse Breeders Association. Runs Six Furlongs in 1:11 Two other members of the Alaking— Bola Mowlee breeding performed on the final days program at this Maryland Jockey Club course. They were Senator Joe, a three-year-old colt, and Lillian Clarke, a four-year-old filly. The first named colt scampered six furlongs in 1:11 flat, fastest time of the meeting, to account for the secondary attraction while completing a double for the stable and jockey Sisto. Lillian Clarke finished second in the second race. In winning the supporting Patapsco Purse for his fourth score in seven starts this season, Senator Joe turned in one of his best efforts of the year. He raced C. Ewing Tuttles Tenure into defeat after a half mile, then drew clear to score by three lengths over G. A. Sacks Rare Knave. Tenure faded badly to be third. Senator Joe was a .00 choice. " The pair of victories gave Clarke nine winners for the meeting, putting him well ahead of his fellow conditioners for the Pimlico meeting. Don Yates Heddy B. became a triple winner during the Pimlico meeting when she garnered top money in the six-furlong second race. A .80 favorite in the limit field of platers, the five-year-old mare completed a Daily Double worth 2.40 to those fans who had coupled her with Harvey w; Shaffers Mt. Alto, 1.80 winner of the opener. Trainer August "Sarge" Swenke and jockey Joe Culmone, after combining their talents to win,the third race with the first-time starter, Razzoo, for the form players, let them down with a thud in the following dash when Andy Handy was beaten as a 7 to 10 choice. The winner of this one was Kee-Dee Stables Jungle Feast, the .40 second choice. Andy Handy, after being taken up repeatedly along the backstretch, came oh in time to nose out Bee A.
