Herman Re-Assigned Pirates Coast Coach at Own Request By the United Press Babe Herman, who was signed this season as a coach by the Pittsburgh Pirates, was re-assigned to his old duties as a scout for the California area at his own request. Herman requested the shift several days ago and general manager Branch Rickey agreed Saturday. Herman will work under Bob Clements, West Coast scouting supervisor for the Pirates. Bill Posedel will take over Hermans job in the first base coaching box. The Pirates said they will not sign, anyone to replace Herman.
