I . , I j , ■ Iron Out Details of Purse Distribution at Detroit Minimum Offerings Boosted From ,500 to ,700; Other Changes DETROIT, Mich., June 28.— At a meeting held this morning between the executive committee of the Michigan division of the Horsemens Benevolent and Protective Association, represented by Dr. Harry W. Lindy, vice-president; Mrs. Audrey Gadel, secretary -treasurer; George White and Henry Forrest, and the Michigan Racing Association, represented by Robert Leavitt, general manager, and Charles McLennan, racing secretary, the following details of the purse distribution and changes in purse minimum were arrived at and agreed upon : The daily purse distribution is raised i from 4,020 to 7,020 per day. The minimum is increased from ,500 to ,700 per day and a graduating upwards I for better class of horses. The following is a tentative daily distribution agreed upon by both parties: One race at ,700, two races at ,800, three races at ,000, one race at ,200, and one race at ,500. As previously agreed upon, the above is ! to be effective retroactive to Monday, June 11, 1951, and the method of distribution as of June 11 has been agreed upon by both parties.
