D. Knapp stable, will be out to add to his three straight victories in the first division of the 17 class trotting stake at Sports -0 mans Park tomorrow night. Clever Sunny drew himself into the easier division with Fay Scott and Bob Eric supplying most of his worries. Meanwhile, such standout trotters as Pay Up, Jerry A. Hanover, Freeman Hanover, Scots Guard, and Fay Spencer find themselves facing one another in the second half of the stake. Each division goes for ,175 and will be raced in two dashes each, a mile and a mile and sixteenth. Jerry A. Hanover, driven by Harry Bur-• right, has seven victories in 14 starts, de-? spite the fact he is the unluckiest horse on the grounds in drawing a good post. He goes from the No. 6 spot in the first heat and No. 5 in the second. Pay Up drew the rail the first time and Mr. Spud the second, but both will be outsiders in the wagering. Pay Up, once one of the most dangerous contenders in trotting circles, has been caught by Father Times long scythe. " Freeman Hanover had one of his best spring campaigns this year at Bay Mead- ows before coming to Sportsmans. He is the trotter who pushed Dalzell to his phe- nomenal 2:05 mile at Maywood last year for the track record, two-fifths of a second better than Proximitys mark at Sports- mans. It could be that Freeman Hanover and Jerry A. Hanover will duel it out again Friday with the Proximity mark tottering in the background. Racing secretary Jerry Baier said he expected at least 10 entries for the ,000 added championship sprint Saturday night. That would mean the total purse will hit ,600 for one six and one-half furlong dash. _With such speed merchants as Eas-0 ter Gfattan, Danny Direct and John Lee, the track mark again w;ll be in danger. The mark for six and one-half furlongs is l:9t% by Dr. Parker, who has been lame most of the spring. But even without the good doctor it should be a wire to wire battle between at least eight of the 10 entrants.
