Shoemaker was not badly hurt, but he was a little stiff and sore and was advised by physicians to take today off from his rid- ing duties, Shoemaker figured in a fall soon after the start of the fourth race. His mount, j Dutch Wife, catapulted over the inside j railing in the seven-furlong chute, and sus-in j tained injuries that later necessitated her destruction. I Shoemaker suffered a few bruises, but plans to return to the saddle here tomor-jn row afternoon.
