May Be Running Out of Time In Naming Offspring of Mare William H. Cane, Hambletonian impres-sario, may be running out of "time" in naming the fleet sons and daughters of his great broodmare. On Time, by Volomite. Hes already employed four "time" classifications with more still needed. On Times first foal was a little colt that Cane called Good Time after the Goshen, N. Y., home of The Hambletonian, Good Time Park. Good Time went on to become the sports leading money-winning pacer and is one of the fastest, if not the fastest, horse in training today. The mares next foal was a filly and Cane named her Our Time. She won almost every major stake at two, but had an off year as a three-year-old last season. The Volomite mare failed to foal in 1948. but produced a filly the following year and Cane promptly labeled her My Time. It appears as though shell fit comfortably into the family speed picture because last week she won the 4,000 Abbedale Stake in 2:09%. On Times foal of 1950, now a yearling and not due to arrive at the races until next season, has been named Your Time. In addition, theres still another filly, a foal of 1951, which hasnt been named as yet. All of On Times get were sired by Leo C. McNamaras great pacing stallion, Hal Dale.
