Continuous Rain Washes Out White Sox Game With Tigers By the United Press The White Sox game with the Detroit Tigers was called off yesterday after a 37-minute wait during a first -inning downpour. Detroit was leading, 1 to 0, with the White Sox at bat. The Tiger run came when Johnny Groth doubled, reached third on Gerry Priddys infield out and scored on George Kells fly to left. After Bob Dillinger doubled to open the Sox half of the inning, pitcher Freddie Hutchinson had thrown one ball to Nelson Fox when time was called. It will be played as part of a twilight doubleheader September 7.
