Twelve Twelve Seeking Seeking Fleming Fleming Handicap; Handicap; Real Real Delight Delight in in Coaching Coaching Club Club Oaks Oaks Hasty House Has Inseparable And Seaward in Lincoln Stake Stable Colorbearers Finished4 One-Two Last Year; Spur On, False, Sun David Also Named By J. J. MURPHY HAWTHORNE, Cicero, HI.. May 23. The Lincoln Fields Racing Association presents the six and one-half furlongs Edward J. Fleming Memorial Handicap at Hawthorne tomorrow, and 12 of the best sprinters now campaigning in this area were named through the entry box today to start in the 0,000 week-end feature, which highlights a nine-race program. The Hasty House Farm of Mr. and MrsAllie Reuben, of Toledo, Ohio, whose Wine List and Roman Bath finished first and second in the 1951 running of the Fleming Memorial, will try for a repeat performance in the 1952 renewal, but with a different set of entries. The Hasty House candidates this time are the hard-hitting seven-year-old geldings, Seaward and Inseparable, each with earnings now approximating 00,000. To be more exact, Inseparable has won 19 races and earned 01,505, while Seaward has won 18 and has accumulated 93,500 in earnings to date. Each will carry 113 pounds. Wells Also Saddles Entry Another two-horse combination in the Fleming is that entered by trainer Howard Wells, who named M. A. and Roy Saffirs former Hawthorne Gold Cup winner, Dr. Ole Nelson and J. S. Bradleys Sun David. The latter son of Wells popular stallion, Equifox, won the six-furlong Evergold Continued on Page Five N. R. McLEOD Will saddle Allison and Prestridges California hopeful, Dark Count, in the Peabody Memorial Prep on todays Lincoln Fields program. : , . Fleming Handicap Brings Out Dozen Hasty House Names Seaward And Inseparable; Stable in One-Two Act Last Year Continued from Page One Purse here on Thursday for his first success in two starts this season. Opposing t!:e aforementioned quartet will be B. W. Landys Spur On, with 116 pounds, high weight of the field; Aarons and Hokins Andy B. W., with 113, same weight as both Seaward and Inseparable; Mikel Farms False, also 113; Clifford Mooers Quihi, 110; R. R. Thomas Joe Graves,. 108; W. H. Bishops Tattenham, 106; H. G. Bockmans Mail From Home, 105; Dunn and Kirkpatricks Roman Sandal, 104. Seaward already has accounted for two stakes this year, the Ben Ali Handicap at Keeneland and the Clark Handicap at Churchill Downs. He also won a handicap at Havana, Cuba, in March. Inseperable has placed severe V times but has not yet won this year. Perhaps Sun Davids best race was in the 1950 Peabody Memorial, in which he finished first, but was disqualified. Dr. Ole Nelson has made only one start this, year. This gelded son of Cravat is a half-brother to Sun David, both being from the mare Sun Jesting, by Sun Teddy. v False Victor in Crete Handicap The Illinois-bred False, perhaps the best of the get of Wracks last son, Hypocrite, who stands at the Mikel farm at Carlock, HI., won the Crete Handicap here on opening day. He had previously won the Le-tellier and Le Compte Handicap at the New Orleans Fair Grounds in February. Spur On, a four-year-old Calumet Farm-bred son of Whirlaway Still Blue, won the Steger Handicap here last Saturday at the same six and one-half-furlong distance as the Fleming; Tattenham was second, False third in the Steger. The Landy colt has won three of his six starts this year, also finishing third twice. Andy B. W. finished unplaced in Falses Crete Handicap for his only start of 1952, but he won eight races last year, including the Illinois Owners Handicap here.- Tattenham appears to be one of the best of many horses acquired in recent years by William Hal Bishop, who has been the leading Illinois trainer for several seasons. Tattenham won six races last year. Joe Graves was a close second to False in the Crete, with Spur On and Inseparable next behind him. He has won twice, placed the same number of times in five starts this year. Mail From Home and Roman Sandal are two much improved developments from the selling plater ranks. The former has won three races while advancing in class from claiiriers to allowance races and handicaps. Roman Sandal Unbeaten This Year Roman Sandal has been somewhat of a sensation. He has started four times this year and won them all; so his owners and breeders, Neville Dunn and Haden Kirk-patrick decided he had earned a chance at a stake. Both owners arrived to watch him run. Roman Sandal was developed by Doug Davis, of Lexington, is now trained by the Tennesseean Del Holeman. Actually, Roman Sandal is lucky to be here to run in the Fleming. He was one of four horses in the van which was involved in a five-truck collision near Chicago Heights Wednesday in which two men were killed. Roman Sandals sole injury appeared to be only a superficial scratch. The supporting feature on Saturday, which will attract much interest, is called the Peabody Memorial Prep. Five of the six three-year-olds entered are candidates for the 5,000 Peabody Memorial Stakes on Memorial Day next Friday. The distance of the Prep is one and one-sixteenth miles. The purse is ,500. The following Peabody candidates were entered: Allison and Prest-ridges Dark Count, winner of the San Luis Rey at Santa Anita on February 22; H. G. Bockmans Happy Go Lucky, winner of four of his eight starts this year; Buddah Stables Dance Nsing, Mrs. Emil Dene-marks Stuyvesant, Reverie Knoll Farms Smoke Screen. The non-eligible for the Peabody is Old Fiddle.
