E. P. TAYLOR Hast entry in todays Queens Plate, a race he has won in two of the last three years. 4 Field of Twenty-Two Entered In Queens Plate at Woodbine Taylor Entry of Acadian, Red Martlet, Dress Circle Choice in Canadas Big Race By JACK AYERS Staff Correspondent WOODBINE PARK, Toronto, Ont., May 23. The Queens Plate, the Dominions most coveted turf prize and the oldest racing fixture continuously run on this continent, will have its ninety-third running at Woodbine Park tomorrow. The stake, which carries a purse of 5,000 added, in addition to the 50 guineas, the gift of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth, will be contested over the mile and a furlong route and a band of 22 thoroughbreds, representing the cream of Canadian-foaled three-year-olds, has been named overnight to contest the issue. Canadas most palatial racing grounds has been all prettied up for tomorrows "Gallop for the Guineas." George C. Hen-drie, managing director of the Ontario Jockey Club, has made elaborate plans to handle a gathering that should completely tax the historic course. The Hon. Leslie Frost, Premier of the Province, has been invited to present the plate to the successful owner, and the O. J. C. directors are honored by his acceptance. Mr. Frost will arrive at -the course 15 minutes prior to the running of the initial race ad will view the afternoons sport from the Royal box in the clubhouse. Members of Field Listed Scheduled to prance to starter Doug Haigs gate along about 5:15 p. m. tomorrow to the strains of the Maple Leaf Forever, .are E. P. Taylors Acadian and Red Martlet, Mrs. E. P. Taylors Red Martlet was named overnight for the affair but he was put in the race as a precautionary measure in case either Acadian or Dress Circle should meet with any mishap between now and post time for the affair. With the distinct possibility of Red Martlet remaining in the barn while the race is run and won, the line-up will number 21, providing there are no additional scratches. Should all 21 three-year-olds compete, the winner will take down a purse of 6,700 and it is the opinion of most observers that the Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Taylor entry of Acadian and Dress Circle will take down that lucrative pot of gold. Taylor, who captured the Guineas twice in the past three years, with Epic and Major Factor, has a most talented standard-bearer in Acadian, a bay coated son of Teddy Wrack and Lady Mona. Lightly raced as a two-year-old, Acadian literally burned up Woodbines racing strip this spring with a series of fast trials, and he came off these to be returned a hollow and convincing winner of a division of the Plate Trial.
