Biddy Jane, Rancocas Winner, Detroit Arrival Silver Jet Another Well Regarded Member of James R. Collins Unit DETROIT, Mich., May 23. Biddy Jane, speedy two-year-old daughter of Psychic Bid and Melva Jane, by Wise Counsellor, returned here late yesterday after she carried the silks of. the Detroit patron, James R. Collins, to an impressive victory Wednesday in Garden . State Parks Rancocas Stakes. Biddy Jane, second to Calumet Farms Bubbley in the Debutante Stakes at Churchill Downs, also was a good winner in Florida, scoring over good company on two occasions at Gulfstream Park. Last March 26, the Collins miss equaled the three-furlong track record of :32 at Gulf-stream while trimming a quick field of juveniles in the youngsters handicap. Jockey Lois C. Cook, who handled Biddy Jane in her New Jersey success, also returned to the Motor City and accepted mounts today at the Detroit race course. Mr. and Mrs. James R. Collins and their daughter, Mrs. Josephine Morton, witnessed the fillys score at Garden State hut they were on hand for-the inaugural day sport at this Michigan Racing Association plant. While Biddy Jane is generally rated the best thoroughbred in the Collins barn, Silver Jet, a gray colt, the get of Mighty Story and Forestation, proved himself a better-than-average individual by capturing a division of the Thoroughbred Club Dinner Purse, at Keeneland April 17, and he also ran third in the 1952 renewal of the Bash-ford Manor Stakes at Churchill Downs. The Collins horses are conditioned by the veteran turfman, Jim Neil.
