Shawnee Farm Foaling Season Is Completed Welt-Bred Youngsters Among Ten Colts and Two Filly Arrivals LEXINGTON, Ky., May 23. Dr. J. R. Hill, manager of the up-and-doing Shawnee Farm, reports that with the arrival of a dark brown colt by Bernborough, out of the mare. Last Lay, on, Sunday, the 1952 foaling season at Shawnee has ended. Shawnee Farm is owned by Mr. and Mrs. Parker Poe, who presently are at their Pebble Hill Plantation at Thomasville, Ga. A count of heads of the 1952 foals at Shawnee by Charles Kenney, who is engaged in an advisory capacity on a part-time basis by the Poes, reveals, 10 colts and two fillies. All three mares that Shawnee purchased at last falls Coldstream Stud dispersal produced what Keriney regards outstanding colts. Fannette has a brown by Heliop-olis; Run A Risk a chestnut by Ardan, and Blue Scene a bay by Goya U. A Coldstream-bred mare now at Shawnee is Amita, a full sister to Johns Joy, Carolina Queen and the three-year-old Cousin. This year Amita foaled a sturdy bay son of Cosmic Bomb. The remaining colts in the group are a brown by War Admiral Dainty; a chestnut by Challedon Fan Fan; a chestnut by War Jeep Theme Song; a bay by Cosmic Bomb Patmigirl, and a bay by Nizami II. Sidi Barrani. The two fillies in the group are a chestnut by Billings Valiente. young daughter of Bull Dog Donita M., and thus a full sister to Shawnees likely star yearling filly, and a bay by Roman My Country. The Shawnee Farm mares this spring will be bred to the following stallions; Noor, Heliopolis, Polynesian, Menow, Priam H War Relic, War Admiral, Roman, Alib-hai, My Request and Nizami n.
