Grimes Reports Purse Boosts At Cranwood, Beulah Parks CLEVELAND, Ohio, May 23. Fred Grimes, vice-president of the Ohio division of the Horsemens Benevolent and Protective Association, announced that Cranwood Park and Beulah Park both have granted purse increases for the remainder of their respective meetings. Grimes reported that this is the second purse increase granted by Lou Pondfield, Cranwood general manager, while Henry Green negotiated with the horsemen at Beulah Park. In his report of the friendly meeting between the track managements and the horsemen, Grimes also stated that preliminary discussions on improved sanitary facilities and the installation of shower units also were held.
