Harris and Staff at Opening DETROIT, Mich., May 23. Frederick E. Harris, Michigan State Racing Commissioner, and the members of his staff were all present today for the inaugural of the Wolverine States 1952 racing season. Deputy Commissioner William A. Johnson, secretary Charles A. Hathaway, and assistant secretary Esther MacSween were on hand for the opening days sport. The commissioners office was crowded during the earlier hours as late arrivals picked up credentials and licenses for the MRA meeting.
