Stevenson on the Sports- mans Park spring racing reveals that the the state received 27,231.33 in revenue for the 12 days of sport including the five- day charity session at the half-mile track. The track was dark the final six days of its regularly scheduled 13 -day meeting due to the horsemen and management being un- able to agree on purse distribution. During the five-day charity meet, the mutuel handle was ,449,426, an increase in the daily average handle of 32,701 or 23.81 per cent. Attendance was 59,209, a daily average increase of 2,204 or 22.87 per cent. The average wager per person per day of 8.26 and per race of .10 represented gains of $.45 and $.05, respec-! ,tively over 1951. Total mutuel handle for the seven days of the regular meeting was ,766,676 as against ,538,916 for 14 days of the 1951 spring session. The average daily handle was 23,810, an increase of 13,888.29 or 35.068 per cent over the figure for 1951. The total attendance was 43,535, making for an increase in the daily average at-l tendance of 3,827 or 38.094 per cent. The average wager per person per day of 9.38 and per person per race of .05 represented decreases of .33 and $.21, respectively.
