Expect Complete Identification Of Horses in Belmont Fire Today BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y., June 17. — Twenty-three horses were victims of the flash fire that swept through stable 35 at this track early Monday morning. The identities of the horses have not been fully determined and the list will not be completed until tomorrow. This is due to the fact that many of those assigned stall room in the structure had been shipped away, notably Hampton Roads and Reno Sam but their stalls were later occupied by a new arrival. Alec Robb, secretary treasurer of the Westchester Association, and stable registrar Rrank Hachett, are contacting owners and trainers who had horses in the burned area but who are at present out of town. These men were expected back today to help in the further identification. Robb also stated that the burned section would be rebuilt as quickly as possible with the available materials on hand. The remains of the groom Alfred Mitchell, of Laurel, Md., were removed from the debris and shipped to the Maryland city for interment.
